The plastics for the machine seem pretty expensive. Something like $60 for 5 pounds. I'd suspect there'd be a lot of waste plastic in the production as well.

That said, the idea that we may one day have an inexpensive 3d printer is cool!

BTW, get the machine cost down to, maybe, $200 and materials cost for minis and terrain pieces to, say, $2 each and I'd call it the next revolution in gaming.
