Finalized Hybrid Rules - What's new?

I didn't catch much... I think they added fractional HP totaling then rounding this time?

I still think the Paladin mark is overly weak and the swordmage mark is overly strong.

They didn't change the most 'broken' build I managed (rogue/ranger who used immediate powers as much as possible to try and get both damage boosts every round), but even that wasn't toooo overly powerful.

Is the Hybrid Talent feat printed in that update? I couldn't find it in my read through, only mentions in the class writeups.

Can you take it more than once, or is that only available with Paragon hybrid?

From what I read, and testing in the character builder, it looks like fractional hp is just figured out at char creation, and then rounded down. So a Swordmage|Warlock gets 5.5-> 5hp per level. Not 11 per 2 levels. I don't understand why they can't allow fractional hp on leveling... If someone is willing to delve into hybrid rules, they should probably be able to figure that out.

Agreed on the paladin mark. Either up the damage or make it a free action. The only reason to use it now is to ding the enemy if you have nothing better to do with your immediate action.

I personally like the swordmage mark as is, but that's probably because it's my favorite class. The only fix I can think of is to make it an encounter power that doesn't recharge on target death or mark override... but that seems too week to me.

There are a few Martial Power 2 teasers hidden in the text:

Fighter

Combat Agility: This class feature functions exactly as the fighter class feature (Martial Power 2, page 6).

Brawler Style: This class feature functions exactly as the fighter class feature (Martial Power 2, page 6).

Ranger

Running Attack: This class feature functions exactly as the ranger class feature (Martial Power 2, page 32).

Hunter Fighting Style: This class feature functions exactly as the ranger class feature (Martial Power 2, page 32).

Marauder Fighting Style: This class feature functions exactly as the ranger class feature (Martial Power 2, page 32).

Rogue

Sharpshooter Talent: This class feature functions exactly as the rogue class feature (Martial Power 2, page 56).

Warlord

Battlefront Leader: This class feature functions exactly as the warlord class feature (Martial Power 2, page 83).

Canny Leader: This class feature functions exactly as the warlord class feature (Martial Power 2, page 82).

The Hybrid Talent feat is not printed in the update. You have to look it up on the Compendium. All it says that you can pick one of the hybrid talents from the two classes. It does not say that you can pick it more than once.

If you forego a paragon path at 11th level you can delve more deeply into your hybrid classes and you get a free Hybrid Talent.

The Hybrid Talent feat is not listed explicitly. The only reference to it before the artificer section is in the Paragon Tier Hybrids and in the Hybrid Talent Option item on p.7. There's no exlicit HT feat entry you would expect.

The one thing that did change was that the paladin no longer has Lay on Hands as a hybrid talent option. This strikes a number of people as being unusual. I'm not sure if this was intended or a typo.

Edit: After looking through the Paladin section again, it appears to be intended as the intro to the section says, "
you give up some healing capability to gain the talents of another class."

I noticed one big change. You used to have to balance an equal number of at will, encounter, utility and daily powers (+ or -1) from both classes. Now you just need to have at least one power from each class in each category (when you have more than one).
