There are many accounts of people being tricked or possessed by the Oni and forced to perform hideous deeds, frequently involving the betrayal of loved ones.
While you can't be sure, it seems likely that this was once the keep of Lord Masaru, a general of some small renown. The books you've read contain a great deal of speculation surrounding his disappearance, but if they mentioned anything of interest regarding his life you don't remember it.[/sblock]

Well, it seems as if he actually has disappeared, and reappeared, Firete says as they continue down the stairs, tyring to make light of the situation.
