There'll be nothing less, but I'm afraid there will be some more stuff. Whether you choose to use the new stuff or not is entirely up to you.
Any particular reason for doing all this? Is it because people have requested such functionalities, or to make the site more engaging to new and current users, or just for the heck of it, or...?

I think it's actually an attempt to appease the Elder Gods, but Morrus would never admit to that anyway...

*ponders short list of changes that would hurt my feelings*

1. Claiming perpetual ownership of user content - including artwork and family photos

2. Changing user interface every 3 weeks and forcing users to muck with the default privacy levels.

3. Permission popups every 3-4 clicks.

Those are the things from current social networks that would cause me to stop lurking at En World.

I am completely uninterested in any site that does "social networking" and refuse to visit any site that I percieve as fishing for personal information.

I want a quick and simple way of reading and posting into discussions about role-playing games; preferably in the tried and tested format of a standard message board. As anonymously as practically possible.

Nothing less and nothing more.

Get ready to move those bookmarks!

Other social networking sites are blocked where I do most of my surfing - at work. Including the new WotC boards. That will be the main reason I would have a problem, if one ends up existing. It would be a shame to lose a chunk of us (whose companies place such blocks) that come here as a mental break from our work day.

What I mainly use here are the forums. I suspect that will not change at the new location.

As my social cricle (incluing those that do play rpgs) does not come here on ENWorld, I suspect that I will not have many "friends" here. However, I agree with SkidAce, I mainly use the forums and the news page here and I suspect, like him, that my reading behaviour won't change much at the new location.

Personnaly, I've been with ENWorld since the time of Eric Noah's pages. I've seen at least two "make overs", a couple of server changes, the birth of ENPublishing, the inclusion of the RPG store, adding the blogs and the groups, and still I come here for the News and to look over the forums. To me, this announcement does not equal that the world is coming to an end. We will see...

Morrus, good luck with the coding

How do they identify social networking sites? I mean, it's not as if there is an HTML tag indicating "insert social network stuff here"...
