Wow. I'm older than televised Star Trek. That just sank in...

But not quite old enough to watch the original airing - I caught the first reruns of Star Trek on WPIX New York as a young lad, as well as the original airing of The Animated Series on Saturday mornings in the early 70s.

Shatner and Nimoy both turned 79 this past week too.

Now Dark Shadows, that's my earliest memory of a television show I watched and liked when it was originally aired (I was Barnabas Collins for Halloween when I was four).
 






When I was in law school, I had a prof give us this speech:

"Any document 20 years old or older is assumed to have a certain set of characteristics as set forth under the 'Doctrine of Ancient Documents.' Now, for many of you, this is the first time that something younger than yourself has been called 'Ancient.' I can assure you that this will not be the last time..."
