GenCon Noobies Game

Rel

Liquid Awesome
Hey gang!

I mentioned in another thread that I'd be willing to run a game especially for those making their first trip to GenCon. I got a great welcome my first year and I'd like to do the same for others.

I'll most likely be running my Sky Galleons of Mars game using the Space: 1889 setting and the Savage Worlds rules. There is an official Savage Worlds Space: 1889 book coming out at GenCon but (unless they release it early at Origins or I get a sneak peek) this will be my own version.

Anyhow I will post more details later but wanted to toss this thread out there to gauge interest. Most likely I'd run this game on Thursday but I'm pretty flexible on that.

This might be my first trip to GenCon. I can't go to Origins because of work scheduling problems and GenCon may be my only option.

I'd like to check out a noob game.

Rel - sign me up!

John Crichton - sign me up!

Rodgrigo - sign me up!

Can you tell I'm keen to get into games at GenCon? :)

Very cool.

As we get closer to the Con I'll have a better idea of what I'll run, when/where and the rest of the particulars.

:)

I'm trying to give a hint of structure to my GenCon schedule so I'm going to tentatively slot this game for first thing Thursday morning (9:00 AM). Hopefully everybody won't be too hung over yet on the first official day of GenCon. ;)

I do feel that I should mention that this will be around the same time as the dealer hall opens in the traditional "Running of the Fatbeards". Personally I'm not too keen on waiting in line with a few thousand other people so that I can rush in and buy stuff in the first hour the dealer hall is open. But if that is important to enough of the potential players for this game then I could possibly move it to another time.

Avoiding the mad rush on the first day of the dealers hall sounds like a brilliant idea to me.

You won't be disappointed folks - played with both Rel and Rodrigo (he DM's a mean Dread) and though I haven't got a chance to game w/ John I've wandered by a table he was running (looked fun anyways. :) )
