Community supporter subscriptions column ad bar

A couple of weeks ago I disabled the column ad. Along with it, I would swear the right hand column with the Community Supporter Subscriptions ad was no longer visible. Today that column is visible again. The Google ad below it is still disabled, but with the screen space still being taken up by the CS Subscriptions column, there isn't much benefit to turning off the ad.

Can we get the CS Subscriptions column to also be disabled? I am already a subscriber, so having this ad trying to entice me to subscibe is useless, and kind of annoying.

OK, now you are just messing with me, right? Suddenly the left column info with blog posts and stuff disappeared without my changing anything. I went to the options page, it was not listed as disabled. If I choose disable, then the right column subscription ad disappears. I guess I got what I was looking for, but it is making my brain hurt.

I'm in the middle of removing the left column and making the right column thinner. A couple of items in the left column have gone, and a couple moved to the right. I have finalised it yet though.

I'm seeing a new ad bar at the bottom: "And yet another word from our sponsors"

Is there a way to turn it off through the UCP?

It's been there for years. You just never noticed it! (Which doesn't speak well to its effectiveness).

Don't look at it that way, instead the site redesigns are drawing new attention to the bottom ad bar, therefore you should be able to get more for it.
