[Adventure] The Cannith Caper (Judge: THB)

Haltor manages to right himself, considering himself lucky that the 'forged did not utilize their opening. He slips to the side and makes a flurry of jabs at the larger 'forged, attempting to draw its attention. But little did it know the tricks he had ready...however the halfling is a bit surprised when the enemy collapses under his assault.

Varak does a quick sidestep spinning and slashing at the big 'forges' midsection with his right blade. The half-orc's blade cuts deep,
and he continues to spin, reversing his grip on the weapon in his other hand and thrusting it at the small warforged, cutting it's shoulder. "You'd best surrender now."

"What's up not able to follow orders?" Varis mocks the smaller warforged, his words intensified by bardic magic.

Harressh's next burp of ice is more on target, but slides off the warforged's armor.

Vistrathis' blade slams into the construct with the sound of thunder and the blow drops the enemy. All is quiet in the room.

Feel free to take a short rest and whatever else adventurer's do after a fight. After the short rest this is a Milestone, so AP earned and another use of daily magic item

Everyone goes first. Would you guys prefer a more free-formed Initiative style? I.e. the common Mal's Rules method. I'm indifferent. Regardless you all go first.

Terrain: Rubble on the floor is difficult terrain

Haltor; Vist, Alex, Harresh, Varak, enemies (1d20+6=17, 1d20+6=10, 1d20+4=21, 1d20+4=23, 1d20+8=24, 1d20+5=10) <- I rolled for Alex instead of Varis, still go first[/sblock]

Varak cleans the "blood" of the warforged off his blades before looking over their bodies a bit more closely. "Everybody okay? I didn't expect that to happen."

[sblock=ooc]Taking an inspiring word from Haltor: inspiring word on varak (1d6+11=17)Thanks SG![/sblock]

Haltor nods and claps Varak on the back, telling him of the one time they faced a platoon of the things during a massive flood of the plains.

OOC: No HS for me.

I've just put together the XP to date and those 4 from the start are at 1211/1750 xp to level. 1 or two more encounters to level for them. [/sblock]

After telling his story, Haltor and White-Eye begin looking around the place. Some sort of arcane doings to be sure. Not natural, not natural at all.

OOC: Start some searching with passive 14.

As Haltor and company begin searching the room you discover a small folder containing numerous hand-written notes, penned by Haestus d'Cannith. After perusing them quickly, you can tell he is the lead researcher of this facility, but the work is incomplete. Perhaps a buyer can be found for these notes.

Well I've reviewed the wish lists and Vistrathis and Harresh both have lvl n of gold as their parcel. Varak doesn't have anything listed so I'm not sure if Evo wants lvl n of gold or a lvl n+4 item. I'll wait and see. [/sblock]

Does Varis receives gold or item, too?

In other news:
Varis can play a Song of Rest during short rests, adding +4 HP to healing surges.

[sblock=ooc]I meant to do my wish list last night at work, but I forgot the ki focus I want is from Dragon, and I couldn't access D&DI from there. That is the only thing I can come up with right now off the top of my head. It the rain of hammers ki focus +2.[/sblock]
