OOC 3.5 Savage Tide

That's ability scores (you can see that I've already done mine in the RG), I'm asking about LA buy-off that allows you to take an ECL3 race like Drow but still be a full progression caster on par with your comrades.

Also, standard 3.5ed point buy isn't the same as Pathfinder.

It's close, but not the same.

Basically, for scores of 9 through 14, it costs 1 point per attribute point. 8 is free.

For 15 and 16, it costs 2 points per attribute point.

For 17 and 18 it's 3 points per attribute point.

So 14 is 6 pts. 16 is 10. 18 is 16.

The full description of the process can be found here:

Reducing Level Adjustments :: d20srd.org

Note that, as we are starting at level 12, it would be possible to play creatures up to +4 LA, including Half-Celestials and a +2 race with the Saint template (which are both horribly overpowered). Use responsibly. ;)

A character with +4 la would still only be able to start reducing his la by 1 at level 12 and that is if he has no monster levels..

If our dm decides to use this rule I would hope that you let us count monster hitdice to.

Ah, I read it wrong. For some reason I thought it meant that you could reduce the LA every 3 levels and it would be gone by level 12 (following the examples before +4).

That solves my dilemma. A +2 adjustment can be bought off by level 9, so final answer is thus:

Female CG Drow Cloistered Cleric (Eilistraee) 3/Warlock 4/Eldritch Disciple 4/Contemplative 1.

I believe the Contemplative makes up for the missing +1 Cleric caster level from ED.

Also, I'm wide open to suggestions on a different character entirely if this one doesn't seem to gel with the consensus.
