[Adventure] A Boy and His Dog (DM: stonegod; Judge: r1)

"Up. Advantageous position it is, at least most of the times" suggests the bullywug scratching her head absent mindly, as she does almost everything else.

"Up sound fine for me," Johanna said after a moment's consideration. "Let us keep moving though- I don't want to spend any more time in this tainted place than we must." With a sigh, she thought of the much cleaner and more comfortable tunnels of the dwarfhold where she had been raised.

"I guess we're going up then. Best we stick together, given the horrors of this place we've seen so far." Torqua adds, following her party up the path. "I just hope there's somewhere in this town you can have a wash and get your clothes cleaned. I would very much like to leave the smell of this place far behind me."

"Up is good. That way we can avoid walking through horrendous muck and shoot down at things instead of having them jump down at us. I'm not too fond about having a horde of lizard creatures jump down on me. I'd much rather have a nice group of meat shie--err, strong, hardy adventurers between me and those vile beasts."

Lhavarr keeps silent in his opinion on direction. I agree with them. Or do they agree with me? TThe half-elf smiles and reigns in his thoughts, even though their surroundings have changed for the worse. Lhavarr follows Johanna, blade resting on one shoulder.

Vimak Stonecarver

"No time for chatter! We have now to make haste to save two lives!"
Vimak says serious as he moves.

The group rushes up the steep incline, and soon fine themselves in an open chamber. It appears to have once been the site of an impact from the sky long ago, long enough such that the wound grew over naturally and with humanoid assistance. The large vaulted chamber glows faintly with a purplish glow.

It is soon apparent where the glow come from. The group is on the lip of the crater. Down below, there is pulsing a purple-green rock the size of a small child. It pulses chaotically, the rhythm both hypnotic and sickening; Sapo and Lhavarr feel it the most. The crater is filled with stagnant pools of water with the tell-tale white resin; it is also filled with the fleshy pustules that have been lining the wall. But most importantly, lying unconscious or dead next to the strange stone is an unmoving boy.

OOC: Who has the light source again? And plans? I'll get a map Thurs-ish. The crater is at least 50' in diameter.

Johanna crouched at the rim of the crater, looking over the unnatural and disturbing scene- she knew instinctively to avoid allowing her gaze to become fixed on the stone, and so kept her eyes moving back and forth.

"We're going to have to move fast- I don't think he is in good shape, and lying next to that rock can't be making him better. Don't guess any of us can fly, or step through space like a wizard- at least not enough to get to him and back, so that means we have to do this the hard way." She paused, and looked around the group. "Well, let's have some rope for a safety line. My thought is, only one of us goes in- someone tough enough to make it, and strong enough to carry him out. That means me, or Vimak. Everybody else, hold onto the safety line, and rainmagical death on anything that pops up out of the slime to get in the way..." Then she looked over at the goliath. "So, what do you think? Do you want to go, or should I?"

OOC: As far as light goes, someone is carrying my sunrod- I think Torqua had it initially since we have so many two-handed weapons in use.

OOC: The slope is difficult terrain up and down, but a successful Athletics check (DC varies) will allow you to move normally up or down.
