Solomon Grundy

I posted this elsewhere, but I am still looking for some help from the community.

For those comic geeks out there ( esp. the older folks ) that know this guy and his background/ origins...what is he? How would you build him in 3.0 or 3.5? What is his type or template

For those that may not know, a greedy miser named Gold was killed in a swamp and was reborn/ reanimated/ reincarnated as this giant entity from the elements of the swamp itself.

I understand that the character has been portrayed in some of the animated series out these days, but I haven't watched TV in about fourteen years so I'm not sure how that has turned out.

The problem, to me at any rate, is verbiage. He is an animated dead, but clearly not Undead in the D&D sense. I was thinking "Plant" sub-type, but its not a good fit either. Elemental? I don't see that either.

Stats are somewhat of an issue as well, as he is shown to range in strength equal to a real-strong dude to going toe to toe with Superman. Intelligence also; he is near mindless sometimes ( awakened golem???) to being almost bright. A

Any suggestions? I'd like an NPC like this character to be in my campaign, but How?

Most important cartoon version of Solomon Grundy:

IMO, he's essentially the Hulk. I'd go with changing Warforged to a template and then slapping it on an Ogre.

That is true for his animated incarnation. His comic version is more in-depth and different. There was a JLU animated episode that was a homage on marvels defenders (Dr Starnge, Hulk, Namor,...).

Do you want a custom build in game-mechanics terms? 'Cos I'm sure that wouldn't be hard. I'm thinking a shapeshifter with a specific and limited number of alternate forms, but that retains the Plant subtype for the associated immunities...
