When did they fix the math for monsters? Was it MM2 or 3?
I was thinking of getting MM2 but I don't know if its worth it if I just have to make adjustments.

MM2 fixed solo monsters a bit- reducing their hit points. I'm not sure, but I think it may have began to bump up damage on monsters as well, a bit like MM3.

MM2
- reduced the defences of elites and solos (removed the +2 to 3 defences)
- reduced solo's HPs to about 80% of that in MM1
- increased minion damage, and confirmed minions with roles (e.g. soldier minion).

MM3
- introduced new stat block, along with traits and triggered actions
- increased damage to all creatures, most notably in paragon and epic
- generally made monsters a bit more interesting (certainly than MM1)

In MMII
- They partially fixed elites and solos.

- Increased minion damage.

In MMIII
- They increased all monster damage.
- Improved and cleaned up the stat block.
- Gave better info and more fluff.
- Cleaned up the stats a little more.
