Charging and Iajitsu

I am wondering, could you charge and opponent, and instead of doing a normal attack, do an Iajitsu strike? Also, could you then combine those two with a channeled spell from a duskblade?

What's a Iajitsu strike?

This skill allows you to channel your chi more effectively when making an attack. Whenever you are making an attack roll immediately after drawing a weapon and your target is flat-footed, you may make an Iaijutsu Focus check as a free action. The results of the roll determine the amount of additional damage done, as shown on the following table: 10-14: +1d6 15-19: +2d6 20-24: +3d6 25-29: +4d6 30-34: +5d6 35-39: +6d6 40-44: +7d6 45-49: +8d6 50+: +9d6 This damage is not cumulative with sneak attack damage or similar abilities if your character has them.
Action: Not applicable; Iaijutsu Focus checks are made at the beginning of a surprise round or as part of an attack, and are therefore not actions in and of themselves.
Retry: Against inanimate objects, yes. In a formal duel or combat situation, generally not, unless the requirements for using the skill (sheathed weapon, flat-footed opponent) somehow come about again.
Special: You may also use this ability when making an attack against an inanimate object. This is the technique martial arts masters use to break boards or bricks with their bare hands.
If engaged in a formal iaijutsu duel, you may use your total Iaijutsu Focus modifier in place of your standard initiative if it is higher.
You gain a +2 bonus to Iaijutsu Focus checks if you have 5 ranks in Balance.



So if I read this right, you should be able to charge a flat-footed opponent, and then use Iaijutsu Focus as apart of the charge attack. Since you can cast a spell of standard action or faster and charge, you could channel a spell, charge, and then do the Iaijutsu Strike, if I am reading this all right.

Combine that with flick of the wrist (RoTW, 150) to help you catch people flat footed even if you don't win initiative and you have a pretty mean Iajitsu machine.

Some DMs limit that only to move action movement, not as part of a charge (where you're already getting a pretty good deal, moving twice your speed AND attacking as a full round action). I allow it, but not all do.

Further, if you did want to pounce, you'd need quickdraw in order to keep drawing weapons after the first.

Good news, everybody. You can draw a weapon as a free action during part of your move action.

The core rule is that with a +1BAb you can draw your weapon as part of your regular move not as part of a move action, slight difference.

PHB pg 141, 142

If you have a base attack bonus of +1 or higher, you may draw a
weapon as a free action combined with a regular move. If you have
the Two-Weapon Fighting feat (page 102), you can draw two light or
one-handed weapons in the time it would normally take you to draw
one.

PHB pg 98

Without this feat, you may draw a weapon as a move
action, or (if your base attack bonus is +1 or higher) as a free action
as part of movement (see page 142). Without this feat, you can draw
a hidden weapon as a standard action.
