Malehan looks to the others. "If you want, I can go, but I'm quite better with my sword than my tongue. Acre, you might go. Just shout if things goes bad and I'm there in a moment."

"I never could pass up an opportunity to exercise my jaw. Of course I'll go!" Acre responds. "Anything I should know before I talk to this guy?" he asks Knoepf in a low voice.

The dwarf whispers back. Yes...mention that his rival Lodoran is up to something big. What it is, we don't know. However, Merrick must know something or want him out of the picture because he helped me once before by telling us the location of Lodoran's house. He pauses for a moment and then continues. I further believe that he "Merric" is concerned and may be willing to help out again or he would have sent all of his goons to attempt to kill us. When you visit him, tell him our intent is to take him down. We failed last time but have regouped. Ask him if he has an insight on how we can have an advantage in completing our quest. Bribe him if you have to. I hate taking the advice of that silly warforged. But if that is what we must do, so be it.

With that, Kruk states to Vex who looks as if she's ready to explode in a burst of frenzied attacks. Save that for later lass. You, as well as the rest of our party, have proven your skills in battle.

"If youse wants to talk with the boss, one of you can do so. Only one. And youse gotta leave your weapons here." the Minotaur says.

"Very well, I am ready to meet your esteemed employer," Acre says. He makes quite a show of handing over his greatspear. "Do mind the pointy end," he quips.

"It isn't a matter of proving oneself, though sometimes a lively 'discussion' can be a powerful influence," Vex muttered in reply, not taking her eyes off the band of thugs. "It is just an opportunity for killing some things that are better off dead. If we're done fighting for now, I think I need a drink..." In a shimmering flash of magic, she shifted her armor back into the more comfortable suit of half-plate she had been wearing before the fight, and she reached out for one of the tankards which had been left on a table evacuated during the brawl...

>Minor action to shift her armor back to it lighter form
>IF we're about to drop out of combat rounds (or already have?), Vex will use her Second Wind if possible- spend another surge, back up to full HP [/sblock]

Whispering in reply. Agreed. I've taken a vow to the lady of the silver flame to do just that. Looking around. Any bowls of beef stew laying about? I've been too busy wrapped up in this quest that I've not taken time to eat. And one can see that I've not missed many meals in my lifetime. Knoepf's belly giggles making his chainmail armor ring as he laughs at his own joke.

The two Hobgoblins escort Acre to the back corner where the Goblin is sitting. The Minotaur still stands where it was before, close to the rest of the party. Most of the rest of the crowd slowly walks away, the entertainment having ended.

"Please, please. Have a seat. My name is Merrick. Would you care for something to drink sir...?" the Goblin asks Acre amiably.

Note: Only Acre can hear and respond to this conversation since it is some distance away in conversational tones.

"The warforged is not silly, he knows how works his world. The lower level doesn't work like the upper level, or the countryside or being on a ship." Malehan looks around and try to spot the warforged.

Malehan spots the Warforged sitting at a table forty feet or so back from where the fight occurred. Although the Warforged left the immediate area, it still seems interested in the proceedings.
