The hobgoblin is really, really tired of being cooked by the Flaming Sphere. A power lash of his chain knocks the brave Lenard unconscious. He pays the price tough; Owen doesn't let this assault go unpunished and gives the gang leader a deep cut for his trouble.

Halcyon doesn't really need to make saves; he's a warforged so he can't fail and there is no upside to a 20 because Second Wind is spent.
