Looks interesting!

BTW, would anyone be interested in a full OGL Supers game, based on the second edition? I liked some of the old d20 trappings and would be interested in doing something with M&M 2nd like Paizo did with 3.5 D&D.

yes.

M&M is interestingly and highly useful ... however a true d20 (or at least a To<>From conversion would allow/ease the genre crossovers available via numerous means (gates, planar travel, spells, etc).

Irronically, a current pet project of mine has been to convert creatures from the True 20 Beastiary to M&M3e... However, this project has had one caveat: I was focusing on creatures listed in Sidewinder: Recoiled. :D

That said I do often find myself wishing there was a better established middle ground between True 20 and Mutants and Masterminds. However, considering the changes made in M&M 3e, I find myself wondering if it would necessitate the creation of that large of suppliment.

From all appearances, the M&M2e Superlink license was highly successful. There was a genuine horde of material published, some of which was really high quality (the Algernon Files, the Villainomicon and the other Adamant stuff, Hero Hooks, Clockwork Golem, and the Big Finger material are what springs to my mind). GR seemed to take a pretty relaxed, hands-off approach to the whole thing, though they do retain a 'terminate at our discretion' right, which is presumably there so they can knock anything particularly graphic or thematically nasty on the head. Not sure if it was ever exercised though.

Hopefully the new license generates as much good stuff as the old one.

I don't understand the question.

Do you mean take 2e and re-tool it by the fans and keep going?

As someone who's using 3e right now, GR already did that. It's cleaned up certain things (like the 3-18 attributes giving you +/- modifiers, instead of just using the modifiers), and so far seems pretty good. I'm not an expert on it, sure, but I don't think the changes are anywhere near as drastic as WoTC did to 4e D&D. Not by a long shot. The closest I've seen are the 8 attributes, but they only split Dexterity into Dex and Agility (so 6 is now 7) with the 8th attribute being BAB.

Or do you personally have an idea for M&M houserules that would make a good book on its own? I'll ask what the end product is. M&M is sooooo nuts & bolts that it's already pretty easy to do anything with it. Unless there's a specific setting you think needs backup with 2e houserules...

(WD: I get the feeling you have something in mind. I'm interested in watching the creative process, fyi. PM me if you don't do it (the idea) on this thread)

True20 mixed in: Okay, I see what you mean. Let me refresh on the T20 and think on it.

My issue with True 20 is that I can't find a group to play it with. It's simple, fun, etc., but my group was scared off by not doing the familiar. And so I troll these boards for inspiration...

Also that the first book wasn't enough. I recall wanting more blasty for mages, but that's my constant wish in new systems. Or was it some other need for the system... can't remember...

Yes, I had something in my mind, but why doing something without anyone interested? So I added a link to my above post.

In regards of True29, for example, I'm not really keen of the power system. I know it is based on a psionics system, but M&M is infinite more flexible. Just giving Adepts a 2PP/rank power at their Adept level rank and the option to choose the alternate Power Feat would be an interesting change. Add in some 'Magic' options from Warriors and Warlocks and you could have a system that closely resemble the old one with more options or something like D&D magic.

Edit: I also like M&M 3rd (I'm playing in your 3e PBP), but I also like Pathfinder and 4e. M&M 3rd just stepped 'enough' away from mainstream d20 so that I think something updated but closer to 'original' d20 would be an interesting option.
