On the Krustiverse scale of power/divinity, where is X?

Looking back at the above post recently, I realized that beej overlooked the listing for Hamanu, the Lion of Urik!

Obviously, this could not stand, so via my mighty powers of information-seeking (that is, they just happened to have the DS Creature Catalog in the Barnes & Noble today) I was able to find Hamanu's listing.

He's a level 27 solo in 4E. That makes him a level 36 standard, and thus converts over to having a 3.5 CR of 41-42. As such, I've added him to the listings in my previous posts.

Yay for completeness!

Holy carp! I did forget about Hamanu! I'll prbably have a price on my head in Urik now... :uhoh:

I'm a little curious, does the 4E Underdark book (which is the source of the stats for Torog, I believe) say what level of god Torog is? I mean, is he a demigod, lesser god, or greater god? The other 4E god stats that I'm aware of (namely Lolth and Tiamat) are level 35 solos, which means they're not that much stronger than Torog, so I'd presume they'd all be of the same divine strata.

Hmm, I don't actually own 4E Underdark, but next time I'm in my friend's place, I'll check the fluff on Torog. I was, at the time I looked, more interested in his combat stats... and the art. I really wish they had translated him into a miniature before cancelling the line - he'd make for a creepily cool final BBEG for a game.

Awesome comparison Beej! I hadn't even thought of using the various 4E stats for make a stable baseline regarding the power of Sorcerer-Kings vs. deities.

Thanks! My current ongoing game is Dark Sun 4E, so the thought naturally came to me when I read the discussion.

Another interesting point of discussion would be to try to figure out where Kalak stood in that list, before getting defeated by Sadira and crew.

This would be more difficult, since to my knowledge Kalak has had only abbreviated stats in Second Edition.

The closest we've ever come is having products that said what level he was, with no other notations. Specifically Dragon-Kings tells us "In game terms, Kalak tried to go from 21st-level to 30th-level dragon all at once."

In contrast, City-State of Tyr does give stats for Kalak, but says that he was only a 25th-level defiler/psionicist, with no mention of being a dragon (which is odd, since that book came out after Dragon Kings).

So as to where he'd be in a 3E/4E list...no idea. Presumably near, if not at, the bottom of the totem pole though, as he wanted to make the entire dragon metamorphosis in one leap.

Hmm, some of my DDi friends tell me that Daskinor has been statted in Dungeon recently. He's a level 20 solo artillery (level 29 standard) - so depending on how you view Tektuktitlay's and Andropinis' elite status, he's either the weakest or tied with Andropinis as the second-weakest SK thus far.

Wow, how did it take me this long to notice this? :-S

I've gone back and added in Daskinor's stats to my above conversions. For those interested, his Fourth Edition stats are from Eye on Dark Sun - Eldaarich as part of Dungeon #186 (January, 2011).

I've also added in the stats given for Kalid-Ma, from Eye on Dark Sun - Kalidnay in Dungeon #190 (May, 2011). It's worth noting (and I've added it to the previous post, but I'll note it again here) that Kalid-Ma's stats reflect him as a full dragon, with some sort of shadow-essense as well due to Thakok-An's (his high templar's) meddling in the dragon transformation ritual.

Either way, it's always fun to keep expanding on how powerful the Sorcerer-Kings are in 3.X/Pathfinder! :D
