No

I Leave.

The session ends with the players congratulating themselves for self control and a successful end to the mission

As I start my car, in the distance, I hear the GM laughing hysterically at the PCs ignoring the trigger to open the treasure room of the BBEG.

fifRBDMs you're always one step behind, buddy.

I chose "Other". Oh, we're still interested. But we want to check out a few more things. Namely, that space above where the chain goes, if we can manage a way. Otherwise, safety first.

The Rat Bastard DM in me might ask, "The space above the chain? Would you like to reach it by climbing up the chain?"

This is a very very old question. Here's a much earlier version:

You live in a garden full of fruit trees. Your deity has told you to eat anything you want except that one tree over there, the tasty-looking one in easy reach. You've been in this garden for a long time, and tried all the other fruits, named the animals, done everything interesting there is to do.

Do you taste the forbidden fruit? If you do, what should the GM... err, deity... have happen? And is this fair?

You missed a few points.

First, you are told to eat the fruit by the only other talking being you have ever encountered.

Second, you are such a noob that whatever language you speak does not even have the words: lie, deception, or manipulate and you do not understand the concept of any of those words.

Now do you eat the fruit and what do you think of the GMs response?
