The Silver Starling takes another step forward and shrieks defiance again. This time her upthrust dagger conjures a shaft of gleaming sunlight that pierces through the cloud of bugs, illuminating an area near the bug mage with an almost blinding light. The mage's corpse seems almost to melt in the bright light, and falls near Brenwar's feet. After a moment, the radiance fades, but leaves a lingering glow around the enemies, making their movements clear even through the bug cloud.
[sblock=actions]Move: to J13
Standard: Sun's Illumination. Burst 1 on K3. Targets reflex (and area attack ignores concealment): Crit vs bug mage, 19 vs. legionary 2. The bug mage takes 28 radiant (not including vulnerabilities) and slides to K2 and is knocked prone. The burst area (J2 to L4) becomes a zone of piercing light until end of my next turn (sustain minor). I get +2 insight and perception vs. creatures in the zone, and enemies there grant CA. I can move it 3 squares with a move action.
Side note: as a result of character review comments, my damage bonus has gone up from +9 to +10 with arcane powers. No point in a retcon unless you really want to, but I thought I should explain why my damage rolls have suddenly changed.
