Rule of Three 4/25/11

Ill be waiting to see what pre-essentials support comes out. I still would like to see a new power source, like elementalists ,who are tied very closely to the primordials.

I doubt it would happen, but I still feel there are a lot of places or such to explore.

I hope some people stop doomsaying after that rule of three:

No dodging around this time. Actually answering with a clear "yes" as some people demanded...

Yeah, I was very happy with this answer. Because you are right. They were dodging around and leaving alot of room for speculation. Today's answers made that go away.

True. Of course, when June 1 comes around and we haven't seen these items yet there'll be the thread about "broken promises" made months ago.

In any event, I do think the fact that they gave specific answers means that they do have stuff in the works, which makes me happy. How fast it comes out remains to be seen of course, but I do think that they are at least listening to the fan base. The problem of course being that there are a number of different "factions" (for lack of a better word) within that base.

Not bad.

At least there was an attempt to answer questions.

I'm still wondering:

1. When will the Monster Builder work?

2. When will we adventures in Dungeon again?

Well, as to #1, it would be unwise (in my opinion) for them to give a date. Software development is notoriously unreliable when it comes to deadlines. They may be hoping, and even planning, for it to be ready by a given date, but its extremely common for software to get delayed.

As to #2, I'm with ya. At least they said the epic story arc is supposed to be this year. Hopefully we'll see more soon (across all three tiers).

Great answers. Very very great. While I understand this year is kind of stuck with what was developed last year, I'm really looking forward to next year's possibilities. Aegeri is going to be all "SQUEEEE!" when he finds out about the epic support.

I'm a bit skeptical about the promises of support for certain under-supported classes, because in the past WoTC has had a very different idea than the community has of what exactly that meant. That said, they specifically mentioned Runepriest and Seeker as undersupported last week (or was it the week before?), so there's certainly hope.

If only they'd combine that with providing support for under-supported races. All I want is to play a gnoll, and not feel like I'm railroaded into certain choices just to keep up.

Yes. A clear answer with no legalistic bullpucky padded around it is SO MUCH BETTER than the crappy, no-real-answer stuff we've been getting.

I am starting to feel hopeful about DDI again; once they get the damn Monster Builder to use the right math and actually build monsters again, I will probably try a one-month resub to see how it looks.
