Low Level Cooperation help.

I'm playing in a group of 4 at the moment, and I built a Tiefling Wizard for the group. I was allowed to DM the first dungeon for the level adjustment. Now at level, I join a Shifter Druid, A Mind Flayer, and a Human Incarnum. I'll fill in more details about the characters later, but I'm wondering how such an odd group should interact, and how they can better survive at lower levels.

What can the Mind Flayer do currently, with it's presumably partial racial HD (on some sort of progression to full ECL)? If it has the Mind Blast already, I'd say everyone should multiclass into Warblade or Crusader, learn White Raven Tactics, and use it repeatedly on the Mind Flayer until you win. :D

Are you implying Mind Blast is broken, White Raven Tactics is broken, or both?

This doesn't sound very fun...

The Mindflayer is using the Savage Species progression. It has Improved Natural Attack has a feat. The Druid is going Master of Many Forms, My character is Wiz 5/Divine Oracle 2/Loremaster 4/Init. of the Seven Fold Veile 7/probably squeeze in a level of Wayfarer Guide.

What level are you currently?

Just second, which is what I need help with. I understand game play in theory, but most of the cool stuff I'll be able to do is later, and I was wondering how one should go about surviving at lower levels, until I don't even need to worry about it, and how this kind of group would cooperate. I know we're going in to the desert, and my wizard has 18 CON, a +1 Cloak of Res. (we have slightly higher than starting gold, as part of the campaign design) and Desert Robes, so her saves are +7 against the DC 15. I have 4 Scrolls of Endure Elements.

It's not going to help your party, but I feel the need to point out, INA requires BAB +4, the mind flayer can't have it yet.

I don't think your party's that abnormal...druid can heal, you're basically a normal wizard, mind flayer with grappling could be a potent melee person, and the incarnate can...so whatever the hell incarnates do. Other than skill monkey/rogue, you seem to e pretty well rounded. Would you be willing to do Wiz/Rogue/Unseen Seer and/or Arcane Trickster if needed to? I realize it would have been (much) better to start off as Rogue if going that path...

Is your Question: How do we Roleplay cooperation? Than...

How do you guys play alignments? How does the Mind Flayer choose to cooperate with Meat?

It sounds like you've got a motley crew of misfits + some Incarnum guy (might also be a misifit). It'd be pretty easy for you to all be rejects from society working together to survive and accomplish goals.

Is your Question: How do we work mechanically with our classes and fulfill the party roles so as to survive encounters?

Than figure who's meleeing, ranged attacking, and healing. Know when to run away. Stock up on items like potions and wands until you can do the things those potions and wants would do. Figure the Skill monkey stuff between the four of you.

Arcane Trickster is broken:

i'd say that even a straight Wizard is weak compared to an Arcane Trickster (perhaps even compared to any PrC that allows 100% spell progression). Those exrta feats every 5 Lvls and the companion's improvement mean nothing compared to the benefits of the Trickster. In Lvls 15+ the Wizard should have been top of the line... yet he is isn't...
A shame really... they should have respected this HISTORIC class a bit more...
Nowadays one should be stupid to take a straight wizard...

Arcane Trickster is most assuredly NOT broken. It requires +2d6 sneak attack, plus a bunch of skills that are cross class for Wizards. Would you like to compare a Rogue 3/Wizard 5/Arcane Trickster 1 to a straight Wizard 9? There's a serious power differential, and it's not in favor of the Arcane Trickster.
