Where do you think I could find a description of this version of Samael? All I khow about this Samael it is from the first Hellboy movie.

I thought Samael would have been a fallen angel.

He IS a fallen angel in pseudo-christian belief. Everything about various angels/demons/devils in christianity is shady at best, because all we have are books written by mainly prosecuted individuals (for blasphemy) and as such they are not, to put it in game perspective "canon". Very few angels are mentioned by name in the bible.

Can't help you on the description... I'd suggest going ahead and trying to write a few out. Maybe use the Pseudonatural template description as inspiration. Or watch Hellboy 1 many times. :D

As for the fallen angel part, Duke Arioch has the right of it. There is also some significant allusion to this in certain D&D books. 3.5's Fiendish Codex II included an interesting piece of history in the prologue, relating to how Asmodeus and the Nine Hells were created. And if you want to go this route, you can go pretty much any direction with the description. I'd recommend checking out FC1 (demons, so no Fallen, but some good idea-material) and FC2, plus older D&D books on the subject.

Sammael (usually spelled "Samael," but I greatly prefer the double M spelling variant) is one of the archdevils in Talmudic and other Judeo-Christian lore, sometimes mistaken for Lucifer the Satan (though the two are separate entities). Various sources conflict on whether Sammael is a fallen angel or remains an angel in good standing (more specifically, an angel of death) - or somehow manages to be both an angel and a devil.

Sammael is the Archdevil of Venom, the Serpent (who tempted Eve, among other things), and Lilith is sometimes named as his consort.

Dicefreaks Gates of Hell (Volume [actually chapter] 8) provides a nice (if not totally accurate, IMO :D) D&D version of Sammael, as one of the original Hellspawn (like Dispater, Mephistopheles, Lilith, etc), and former Lord of the Seventh who was deceived and betrayed by Beelzebub. GoH Sammael escaped from Baator by shifting his Venal Fortress to the Gray Waste, and he is now supposedly closer to NE than LE. I think we can safely disregard that particular notion. ;)
