How Does This Work?

I have an adventure coming up with some high level characters and i want to prepair in case a very specific situation arises. I"m going to try to be as clear as possible but the nature of the situation is a bit confusing.
Their is a pit, say 30 ft deep 50ft wide with spikes. Reaching from wall to wall but only in the very center of the pit is an anti-magic field (the idea being anyone who tries to use a spell like fly to get over would find themselves drifting slowly down onto the spikes (or quickly depending on how fly works when canceled with anti magic as opposed to dispelled). After the pit (so on the other side of the anti-magic wall) is an illusion.
The question is, if someone with true sight on walked up to the pit would true sight function through the anti-magic field? Would the illusion function through the anti-magic field? Would the person not see the illusion but also not be aware that the illusion existed?

Antimagic would be a fast fall from flight. However, the second you fell out of range of the AMF, the flight magic would be restored. It doesn't dispel it, it just suppresses it.

Oh... Good question.

If I were the DM, I'd allow True Sight to notice the antimagic field. A visual distortion of some sort of magic, but you can't tell what it is.

The question isn't would the true site notice the antimagic though that is something to consider. The question was would it identify that their was an illusion on the other side of the antimagic field?

Since the area of effect is the target creature for True Sight, I would say yes. It is the creature's sight that is enhanced, rather than a revealing of hidden things within an area of effect. Therefore, you would see an illusion anywhere in your field of vision so long as you are not in the antimagic field.

Similarly for the illusion. Assuming it s not actually in the antimagic field, but behind it, the characters would see the illusion as normal (no impact from the AMF), barring True Seeing.

Thank you Kitcik that is what i was looking for. Stream and Rumble also thank you for providing insight into occurances which had not crossed my mind. Should i or is it possible to close this thread so other people don't waste time reading/ responding to an issue that has been resolved?

It's usually entertaining and occasionally actually useful to see what other sorts of responses people might provide.
