So I stepped on a gnome

Well from the sound of it, he stealthed, then backstabbed you (or would that in this case be footstabbed?) and in the process you became bloodied! Minis are just like dice, they have souls and he musta been pretty upset at you to have taken half your hit points.

a lot of people are using 4e slang....

i should clear things up huh?

its a 3x game and I never played much of 4e, however i still got the bloodied and backstab references, but still

at least we can all agree on one thing before this hopefully doesn't turn into a hate thread...little sucker rolled a few natural 20's in a row...damn the gnome's luck. :p

The player of the gnome was kind enough to bring a fruit basket.....I didn't even know they really had those, but there is now a fruitbasket on my table

of the monsters this will be.

I don't think you gnome uch about gnome-inflicted wounds. ;)

Pointy hats are pointy! It says so right in their description.

I'm not much for going to doctors for stuff I can treat at home.

But then, I've sunk a hay hook a 1/4" into my ankle, pulled it out, put some alcohol on it and went back to work. My ankle was mighty stiff the next day.

the worst I've had is a fractured tripod (that's the cheek bone thingy) from a spinning heel kick. I went to the doctor a week later, when somebody told me my eye could be frakked up if the bone isn't right. I got 3 plates in my head for that. That kinda hurt.

There's a quote in The Light Fantastic by Terry Pratchett that I think is relevant here: "The life of gnomes and goblins is nasty, brutish and short. So are they."

Actually, if I recall correctly, in the Gnomes series by Rien Poortvliet, one of the illustrations shows a wooden gnome with a sharp, pointy red hat used as a trap against trolls, who automatically stamp on any gnome they see.
