Lashing Flail question

Hey gang. If you've got some sort of flail (spiked chain say), and you have the feat Lashing Flail, as well as a Staggering weapon, do they work together?

Lashing Flail says slide one square with an MBA hit. Staggering says add its enhancement bonus to any "power" that slides.

Didn't know if they would work together or not. I'm assuming an MBA is still a power, and LS gives it the slide part, but I'm not sure if that meets Staggering weapons requirements.

Thanks!

I think so, yes. Your rationale is what I get out of it, too. Basically, there's nothing to really deny this combination so in the interested of the "yes" rule, yes, they work together.

Sure, why not.

The only one I don't like working together is the "You give up your slide to prone" and "Your prone slides".

In this case, Lashing Flail is a triggered effect, and the source of the sliding effect, and therefore it is not a power doing the sliding.

Ie, expect table variation, since it's a melee basic attack (power with the weapon keyword) that triggers the slide, but there's a question of where in the mess the power appears. It's not a separate power (like Hammering Hands) or action (free action to slide), etc, so I suspect most DMs will be good with it combo-ing.

Many of those same DMs would object more to, say, ardent strike's divine sanction triggering a slide from Commanding Vow (to pick a fair comparison) and _that_ using Staggering, though, so... messy.

So Flail Expertise and Lashing Flail, means any attack can knock a opponent prone right?

Lashing Flail is NOT a power, and it's the effect doing the sliding.

I have no problem if people do that in games I play or run, but that's not the same as how the rules actually work.
