Amusing House Rules

Any player who wants to play a kender (or similarly annoying race, such as a Gungan in Star Wars) should be prepared to roll up another character pretty early on, as there's a large chance that the first PC will be hit by a random lightning strike.

Typically our house rule for rolling stats is 4d6 drop the low and reroll 1s. One of players who hosts a campaign from time to time alterted it slightly and made this condition as well.

If you roll four 1s for any stat even through rerolls its an automatic 18 in that stat. We were kinda stunned but he said well if the dice gods hate you that much its still not going to help much.

Also for the current campaing one of the players was just joking around about my weapons name and came up with Herpes. We all joked and laughed about it for a few minutes then the DM house ruled that Herpes was now the activation word for any enchantments I put on my weapon and I had to use it in a battle cry. "Herpes will destroy you!" , "Fear Herpes!" , and "Herpes! Don't let me down!" have been some of the better ones I've come up with.

We had a chart called "Death...Hollywood Style!". When someone died in the game, you rolled it and consulted the chart. Hilarity would ensue.

For example, one might literally kick a bucket or buy a farm, find Godzilla stepping on tiny Japanese people, or go out like Porkins in Star Wars. Tons of good stuff in there.

I also played a Star Wars game where some bonus was given to whoever could answer the most questions from a few Star Wars Trivial Pursuit cards. Bad part was, I would usually win that one.
