I may be in the minority here...
But I really hope that this particular storyline marks the end--truly, permanently, irrevocably the end--of the Linear Guild.
They were amusing for a while, but now I just want them out of the way so we can move on (or "back," in the case of Xykon and Redcloak) to other things.

I'm not going to lie, oots does feel like it has been dragging on forever now.
It might be because we are talking about 5e when it's still running in "not quite 3/x" though.

Of course, if you're not talking about 5e and still playing 3.x, this isn't an issue.
Order of the Stick is a webcomic that slowly morphed from a gag-a-day D&D based webcomic to an ongoing fantasy epic with humorous elements and ostensibly working in the D&D 3.5e rules.
Read it expecting a bellylaugh every day, or spot-on D&D rules commentary every time, you're going to be disappointed.

Ugh, this is happened way too early, why would Tarquin attack now?
I partly agree with Mouse...I hate Nale and the cheating bastard dark elf, and never much liked Sabine, either, I'd love to see them finally meet their end. Linear guild got stale pretty quickly. I do like Thog (who thankfully isn't here), Tarquin, and Malack, though. I don't want to see them go.
Also, I had a random thought brought on by imagining how this fight will go and being positive that it once again WON'T happen: Has Durkon EVER gotten the snot kicked out of him? Roy does, par for the course being the fighter and leader, V takes far more vicious beat downs all the time than a d4 HD elf ever should be able to survive. Haley's been pulverized numerous times. Belkar doesn't get "nearly killed" too often despite how much he tries to get into fights, but still happens sometimes. Elan seems to emerge mostly unscathed usually but even he had the Cliffport beatdown... Can't recall durkon ever really getting creamed.
Having a d8 HD and racial con bonus, he potentially has the same exact hp as Roy, and appears to wear heavier armor! And can heal himself! Yet, he seems to have mastered the art of sandbagging -- staying relatively quiet and unnoticed, only to open up a giant can of tier 1 whoop ass when required. And thus escape the DM's ire. And yes, I know OotS doesn't actually have players or a DM.

If the LG dies, I doubt it'll be here. I don't see Rich killing off Nale while Thog isn't around.

Me too. I found the Linear Guild to be a fun diversion to Xykon and Redcloak, but I'm ready for them to be done. If Rich wants to develop the idea that Sabine actually loves Elan, fine, but I'm really into the "A" plot and would like that to move forward. The "B" plot needs to be resolved.
