Wow. That looks horrible. They've Michael Bay'd it to hell and back. Slowmo cgi twitch action scenes and embarrasingly kludgy dialogue.

According to producer Neal Moritz, this version of the film will be closer to Philip K. Dick’s original story.

Farrell stated in April that the remake would not be the same as Dick's short story.
:hmm:

TECHNICALLY, your quotes don't necessarily exclude each other. Ones says closer and the other says not the same. So they could still both be accurate. ;)

Anyway, of all the movies that I wondered would look like done with modern technology, this wasn't one of them. The first movie was cool, but a little cheesy, but I sorta expected that. The new movie... I don't know... I MAY see it, but probably on Netflix or something rather than in theatres.

Hmmm...I'm intrigued. I enjoy the original as a cheesy action flick, but I'm curious to see a version that might let the story/mind f*ck come through more without Arnie's brilliant acting getting in the way.

I dont understand the negative reaction. This looks pretty awesome to me. Loved the original, but this looks nice in a different way.

funny is they are just cashing in on the name Total Recall as this one has [sblock]no Mars in it[/sblock] (from what I understand)! Just use "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale".

It does look good...Kate Beckinsale & Jessica Biel...:D...cat fight! ;)

The twist at the end of the original story wasn't even in the Arnie movie. The movie just made it sort of ambiguous as to what happened back at Rekall.

At the end of We Can Remember It For You Wholesale
Rekal Inc. try to implant a memory into Quail's mind about him meeting an alien race and having become the saviour of Earth, when they find out that the memory is already there. And not only that, there's physical evidence. The same evidence they tried faking. Which to me suggest something much bigger is going on, since how could the people at Rekal have invented the exact same thing that actually happened. Maybe they had false memories and the real ones were coming back?

My understanding of the book too...

I'm just really burned out on the way movies use cgi these days. That trailer looks like salad to me. It's image after image of visual noise.
