Feat requirement: Dodge

I'm evaluating the 'Dragon Slayer' prestige class from the Draconomicon as a potential prestige class for my character.

Among the other requirements, it requires the Dodge Feat.
I've run into several other prestige classes in my quest for a suitable prestige class requiring that Feat, and just as I was about to turn my attention elsewhere I decided to ask here first.

In most cases, the Dodge Feat is simply an 'investment' for PrC's. You take an underpowered feat to qualify for a prestige class. Personally, I don't have any problem with that.

However, my current character has a Dexterity of 10, meaning he doesn't even QUALIFY for Dodge.

My question:

Is there a way to gain the Dodge Feat without the DEX 13 or a way to qualify for Dragon Slayer without actually taking the Feat?

Desert Wind Dodge and Expeditious Dodge are generally considered better than Dodge and count as having Dodge for feats that require it as a prerequisite.

However, they do both require Dex 13.

Cobra Strike Monk gets Dodge as a bonus feat at level 1. Monks do not need to be able to qualify for their bonus feats.

Why do you only have dex 10, though? Dex 14 is helpful to nearly anyone, and even if going for non-mithral full plate, a 12 helps and 13 isn't too painful to drop in instead.

Dragon 310 has fighter variant classes that gain Dodge as a bonus feat. They say that class features that are the same as fighters replace those features. The bonus feat sections in Dragon do not contain the caveat in the fighter bonus feat section of the PH that requires meeting the prereq's.

A bit cheesy, but...

"A bit"?

Sounds like a dm-headslap waiting to happen.

Your best approach is prolly to get a +4 Dex item and ask your dm how he feels about qualifying via magic items.

Admittedly, but the entire American judicial system is a tower of cheese - how much you can get away with under the letter of the law / contract / etc.

So, now you have a possible, but very cheesy, RAW solution and a dairy-free but non-RAW solution.

Ask your DM to waive the Dex requirement to Dodge, or come up with a suitable replacement.
It isn't so amazing a feat that it couldn't be done, a reasonable DM might be willing to do it for you.

I look at the dodge feat and similar feats as being a PrC tax, in that you have to have the feat and Dex 13 in order to take the PrC. Some other PrCs require other feats with other stat requirements (Power Attack requires Str 13, etc.).
