Just Two... More... Days!

I cannot be the only one who is massively relieved that this ridiculous waiting period is almost over. Perhaps it is just because I was too young then, but does it not seem to anyone else that the Internet Age has led to a massive increase in the things that we wait for?

Eh, no - I remember having to wait until Christmas of '78 (Star Wars came out in May of '77) for a Millennium Falcon; and it was a long time between the 2E announcement and it coming out (and in that day an age, the only preview was a printed pamphlet they distributed months before the release - I musta reread that thing a half-dozen times).

I'm gonna have to deactivate my account here for a week once I download the playtest so I don't get influenced by the nerdrage to come. I expect, no matter how good it is someone's going to start a tirade and get banned over it. Don't want it to be me.;)

I wonder how much of the rules we're going to get...

The PAX playtests were all done by designers, so we can assume they knew more of the rules than the char-sheets let on. Even if we don't get char-gen and such, there has got to be some general rules for handling corner-case stuff...

* A good explanation on how to set DCs for actions not assumed in the text.
* Mundane gear and weapons/armor.
* Magic items and what they do.
* How to resolve attacks, saves, ability checks, spells, etc.

Just to name a few.

I can still imagine that this playtest book could be easily 60+ pages.

If you infer that all the PAXEAST DM's were all 5E designers, that is NOT true at all. Most were part of the F&F closed playtest.

I really hope they start at midnight WotC local time and have some official torrents set up as I picture their servers getting smashed otherwise.

More info would be nice at this close date.

Me too I would love a sub forum for testers so I can still come here but otherwise I need to leave for at least a week to give everything a fair shake

Excited and a little apprehensive, with a growing sense of impatience would, I think, be an accurate description of my mood regarding the upcoming playtest.
