Some folks were speculating about the most common personality types among D&D players, and suggested making a poll. Since the person suggesting was a introvert, he didn't post it himself. Since I'm an extrovert, I will. ;)

So, what Myers-Briggs personality type are you?

I get widely varying results on Myers-Briggs tests...

...and, as a complete aside, I'm not so sure that classifying people as one of 16 personality types is any less weird than classifying them as one of 12 zodiac signs.

Myers-Briggs actually has credibility with some reputable people. I went to a leading MBA school, and I remember spending a day in one of the soft classes talking about how your M-B type affects which managerial techniques will be the most effective for you.

I always, always land on the line between ENTJ and INTJ. I probably should take the test again: my wife's an extreme extrovert, and I suspect she's been pulling me in that direction.

I'm also very curious if RPG players have different tendencies than the general population.

INFP. I did the test on an earlier link. Since there is variation between categories, here's a bit more detail:
Clearly introverted (I)
Clearly intuition-based (N)
Barely subjective about evaluations (F)
Barely spontaneous (P)

Same here. That's where I first heard of it; my OB class in my MBA program.

Not that business types are reputable psychiatrists, but they do hire them. :)

I usually get ENTJ, but depending on the specific variant of the test, and how I'm feeling that day, I often close to the line and occasionally on the other side of it for any of the last three letters. I always come out strongly on the E v. I side, though.

Clicked to fast. I hit ENTJ but meant INTJ.

Also I forget what it is, but I remember that these types are not evenly distributed among the population at large. It would be find that distribution and compare it to this poll.

(My prediction is that we high a higher level level of introverts).

First time I took this was in a HS science class for a group project. I got ENFP and was grouped accordingly... with Introverts and Thinkers. I literally shook and hooted inspiration into them eventually screamed "I CANT DRAW PEOPLE SO WE'RE DOING A PUPPET SHOW! you can hide your face under the desk."

On retakes I get ENTP and ENFJ, but mostly I get ENFP. It is pretty close to my personality though. I do play healers, leaders, flankers, and support in... every game.
