Brigands and Barbarians HD

Also I would seriously like to know what you guys and gals think of the game as I consider this a forum of expert RPG players, people that know that old school means pen and paper and not Final Fantasy B-)

Excellent Alarian let me know your thoughts and what you would like to see. I think in the next update I will provide pop-up scrolls that let you know some of the games mechanics and crunch as well as more goodies, don't want to go all Monty Hall but a Mariachi moment or two doesn't hurt a mobile game.

Been playing it a bit and my main comment at this point is you seem to have the bare bones down, but it definitely needs more. You basically move and then find food or find a shrine with a healing potion. So far nothing else. In combat, you basically just hit the combat button over and over until the monster is dead, or if you get low on HP, chug a potion.

One annoyance I have is the screen that appears for everything that I have to click on to close (Onward to adventure!). I would much prefer some sort of info box or chat window somewhere on the bottom of the screen that would say "Your Skills as a Hunter help you catch a Honey Badger and get 4 food" but be able to continue on without having to click ok to close the window. When I'm moving from point to point, it got frustrating having to constantly close the window.

I do like the map and the icons that show where everything is and where monster and such can be found.

I don't have a clue what Aether is. Is it like spell points for a Mage? I'm playing a fighter type so that might explain why I don't know what it is.

Combat needs more options. As I said before, currently you just spam the needed weapon until the monster dies. Some sort of indication of how your doing would be nice. I know it says "dying" when it's close to death, but perhaps a few more level of damage would be nice. I.e. lightly damaged, hurting, near death, etc. Just so you have an idea of how combat is going.

I would like to see towns have more info as well. Currently when you enter down you get several options but no real indication as to what it's going to do. Like if I "Buy Armor" it just says (paraphrasing here) "Ok, you bought armor and now head of out town". I have no idea how much gold, if any I just spent on it. It just says "You spend your gold on armor". It would be nice if I knew what I was getting and how much it was going to cost before clicking on an option or perhaps to even have options. Or even not have me just exit town after clicking. If I need food and armor it would be nice to just do that all at once.

Hopefully this comes off as helpful and not too negative. I'm not sure how heavy or complex of a game you are going for here, but hopefully what I've posted is informative and helpful.

Good luck and I'm looking forward to updates.

Thanks for the feedback, not negative at all and is a big help. I will defiantly try to design the above idea into the game.

Aether is used for spells, special abilities, and shields. I am adding rules scrolls to help explain different parts of the game. As you level up and get more weapons additional combat options will open up like Feint and Mighty Blow.

I am working on town and dungeon maps for future updates as well.

Cheers,
