Converting Epic Level Creatures

okedokey i thought you wanted cr 6 stuff we could just cook up cr 6 stats for an advanced "hell zombie." or something.

I'm not feeling it's worth bothering with statting up a new monster for this.

Walking Dead seem a decent fit to the concept of a "double strength zombie" and are around the right CR. The summoned undead will usually be benefiting from the Dark King's Aura of Desecration, remember, which'll give them a bit of a power kick.

Most of the other CR 6 undead look a bit too far off from the "mindless zombie" concept for me to fancy them.
 




Okay, the original has:

The Temple of Poseidon
Ythog-Nthlei can project scintillating beams of energy from his 4 large eyes at the rate of 1 per melee round. Each beam hits on a 4 or better and drains one point of Strength from its target for 1 turn unless the victim makes a saving throw.​

So, it's a ray attack that does Strength damage - basically similar to ray of enfeeblement, I suppose. That seems pretty straightforward, the main thing is deciding on what actions they use.

Do we make that "rate of 1 per melee round" in total or per eye?

Alternatively or additionally, maybe the "1 per melee round" means he can use an eyebeam every round in addition to his normal actions, so he can eyebeam and makes a full attack or use a SLA and move.

In other words, we need to decide what action eyebeam requires - I'm thinking a single beam as a free action or four beams as a standard action?
 




In addition to a full im thinking seems epicy.

Attack: Blacklight mace +42 melee (4d6+26) or bite +37 melee (3d6+15 plus venom) or eyebeam +25 ranged touch ()
Full Attack: Blacklight mace +42/+37/+32/+27 melee (4d6+26) and bite +32 melee (3d6+8 plus venom) and 4 eyebeams +20 ranged touch ()

I was thinking more:

Attack: Blacklight mace +42 melee (4d6+26) and eyebeam +20 ranged touch (); or bite +37 melee (3d6+15 plus venom) and eyebeam +20 ranged touch (); or 4 eyebeams +25 ranged touch ()
Full Attack: Blacklight mace +42/+37/+32/+27 melee (4d6+26) and bite +32 melee (3d6+8 plus venom) and eyebeam +20 ranged touch (); or 4 eyebeams +25 ranged touch ()

Hang on a moment, I just realized all those attack values are 2 points too high. I statted Him as a Huge monster originally (with a -2 size penalty), but did not modify the numbers when we upped him to Gargantuan.

Better update the Ythog-Nthlei Working Draft.
