Will definitely catch it, though the whole thing looks a little silly.

It might be a generational thing. If you grew up watching Godzilla, Gamera, Ultraman, The Space Giants, and Johnny Sokko you wouldn't be asking any of those questions. You'd be preordering tickets and counting the hours until Pacific Rim opens.I wanted to like it... but my head just about exploded when I saw it.
1st you have giant creatures invade and try to over take earth... Ok, basic premise check
then we send airforce that fly planes low enough to get hit by monsters...um WTF
Then we make giant mechs... that have all the flaws a human body does, instead of making it powerful and stable we base it on human... really? wtf2
then to control these you need two working togather. That sounds awsome, like robot combat leauge...
to do so they need to move in tandum... WTF3!!!
I just turned 44. The trailer brings me back to being 8, watching Monster Week on the 4:30 Movie on Channel 7, ABC out of New York City. Broadcast. Not cable.

I am not certain I am quoting this properly, but the rule of awesome is in a good flick you forgive flaws, while in a bad one flaws become unforgivable. This is a live-action mecha-battling-monsters flick. A mecha hits a monster in the face with a cargo ship, thus it is awesome, thus we forgive its flaws.
