Gaming in the ‘Verse: Gen Con 2013 Exclusive is a Firefly RPG convention special that will debut at the Margaret Weis Productions booth during Gen Con: Indianapolis from August 15 through the 18th.
This pre-order is for the digital, full-color version of the Gen Con Exclusive PDF and will be available to fans worldwide. Gaming in the 'Verse will include preview material that will be expanded upon and published in the upcoming Firefly Role-Playing Game based on the popular Fox television series created by Joss Whedon.

* Character Creation includes all nine crewmembers, 12 pre-generated archetypes, and original character generation
* Ship Creation includes step-by-step information on how to build your boat. Sample ships are offered throughout.
* Episode Guide preview for "Serenity" and "The Train Job" comes with recap, adventure seeds, and character stats
* Basic Rules provide everything you need to run a scenario in the 'Verse
* Wedding Planners, written by Margaret Weis, is a five-act Echoes of War adventure
* Shooting Fish is written by Andrew Peregrine
* Appendix includes design essays, glossary, FAQ, Chinese Translation Guide, and the White Sun Galaxy Atlas

All game material provided in Gaming in the 'Verse: Gen Con 2013 Exclusive will employ the Cortex Plus mechanic. The estimated release for the Firefly RPG is Spring 2014.

Both stand-alone Echoes of War adventures and the Serenity Crew characters will be available separately on DriveThruRPG.com in digital.

Sorry I missed your question!

The Gen Con Exclusive is a preview of two aspects from the Firefly RPG line. The first five chapters are what the rules will be based on for the corebook. They'll be employed for the Echoes of War line of digital adventures that debuts with this book. Wedding Planners, by Margaret Weis, and Shooting Fish, by Andrew Peregrine, kick off that series of standalone Episodes for the game.

This is not a beta. The rules here are the same rules you'll see in the corebook. We'll have more setting and game rules in the corebook including advancement rules, player-and-GM specific chapters, a new Episode, new Distinctions, the full set of 14 Episodes with all game rules, etc. Here, there is a lot of information for you to fly up and into the black right away.
