Tactical Feats

A quick question for the boards. If a character has multiple tactical feats, can they have benefits from each feat active at the same time? For example, if a character had Einhander, Elusive Target and Giantbane could that character be utilizing Narrow Profile, Negate Power Attack, and Duck Underneath all at the same time? I can't find any advice or rules that points one way or the other. Thanks!

No different than using any other two feats at the same time. As long as you meet all the conditions needed to activate each tactical feat.

Balance. Combining those two dodge bonuses, in addition to the bonus for full defense, looks pretty nasty.

That's not to say that it's not allowed - I would need to check "Complete Warrior" for that, but it's entirely possible that the designers didn't intend (or perhaps didn't even foresee) that they might be used together.

(And, incidentally, "Negate Power Attack", and similar 'spoiler' powers shouldn't even be in the game in the first place. But that's another rant...)

Maybe. I didn't say it was balanced, just legal. I'd have to see some pretty wild example characters to be convinced that it was really overpowered, given how much you have to do to get those bonuses.

I agree. Negate power attack is total BS. You want to negate it, dodge the attack.

To be honest, with 3e, I'm hard pressed to consider any non-Bo9S martial character overpowered, given what the spellcasters can do...

Okay, I checked "Complete Warrior", and sure enough, there's no restriction. And the book does indeed note the possibility of having multiple such feats, so it clearly wasn't an omission. So, yeah, go for it!

I think you need to post a few times in existing threads before the ability to start a new one unlocks. It's an anti-spambot measure.
