Videogame to Tabletop....

So how many of you have converted your favorite videogaming experience into a tabletop game/world? Which system did you use? Do you have any compiled material? How long did it last? Last but not least, What game was it based on?

To answer my own questions:

1) I have.

2) Both 2nd Edition with and without Players Options and 3.0/3.5 Hybrid rules + House rules.

3)Sparse at best. I compile most of it on the fly and use the VG walkthroughs and my knowledge to freeplay with.

4)My favorite Lasted about 13 years. Started in mid 1997 and ended in late 2011.

5)Dragon Warrior (Enixia) / Final Fantasy (Mysidia) Hybrid campaign.

So how many of you have converted your favorite videogaming experience into a tabletop game/world?

Not personally, but one of the GMs in our group has done a Skyrim conversion.

Which system did you use?

He's using a homebrew system, and I believe he may have half an eye on releasing that to a wider audience at some point.

Do you have any compiled material?

Don't know. As I said, I think he might be considering making the system available.

How long did it last?

At the moment, he's just got a one-off game scheduled, but he has noted that he could spin it out to a mini-campaign if the demand is there.

Last but not least, What game was it based on?

Skyrim.

It's my Fantasy Heartbreaker, and it's languished a bit while I think about Life And Stuff, but I'm still pretty proud of a lot of it.

Currently considering an XCom Savage Worlds game. I need to run it past one of the game groups I'm running, at least a couple of them are big fans.

Working on it.

Which system did you use?
Modos RPG. It's in the first playtest edition.

Do you have any compiled material?
Meaning campaign flavor/background? Sparse at best. But every adventure I run adds to the material.

How long did it last?
Ongoing.

What game was it based on?
Several. Final Fantasy IV, Eamon, Skyrim. Plus a couple other secondaries. One goal is to merge the speed and ambiance of a video game with the creative flexibility of a tabletop.

Features I'm stealing:

Final Fantasy IV: Front/back row combat. Simplicity of character stats. The "defend" action.

Eamon: open-source design. Simplicity of combat actions. Three-stat characters.

Skyrim: Perks as improvements. Three-stat characters. Skill list simplicity. Skill progress. Organic classes.

It's my Fantasy Heartbreaker, and it's languished a bit while I think about Life And Stuff, but I'm still pretty proud of a lot of it.

This is an excellent project. Another one that inspired me is here.

I have borrowed ideas and themes from the Thief series. But I've never bothered to recreate anyone from the games.

When I was in college, I found a few online resources that created Tonberries and Chocobos from Final Fantasy for 3.X.

I've used many elements from the original Final Fantasy Tactics in my AD&D (Greyhawk) game, such as monsters, NPCs with their stories adapted to the Greyhawk Wars storyline instead of the Lion War, magic items, etc, and someday I wouldn't mind running a game set in the world of Ivalice, just hasn't happened yet.

I also highly enjoyed Sword & Sorcery's D20 version of Everquest, I thought it captured a lot of the feel of old EQ and meshed it well with the D20 system.
