<b>edit</b> Bloody hell, I posted in the wrong thread! Either way, I do definitely remember Alien Nation - the movie was good but I was just getting into the series when it was cancelled. The subsequent movies were kind of hit or miss tho.
Given that the concept was very much about the immigrant experience in America, I think a continuation or, given Hollywood's love of the damn things, a reboot, could in the right hands be even better. Could.

Loved the original movie. Had no use for the series. Only flaw was that whole water=acid silliness which was hard to overlook (Never heard of RAIN? Humidity? MILK is mostly water isn't it...?) A reboot for a movie franchise could work really well.

Rather a different world situation - fall of Soviet Union and removal of Berlin Wall, but we now also have more terrorism, and a really crap economy where GIVING thousands of aliens jobs and housing will be really socially and politically problematic...

Well the original show was an allegory for discrimination with the Aliens standing in for which ever group.... So I see it still being about that

Ah yes.
Original movie was good. Changed the lead actor (but still same character--yuck) for the series and the "second movie", which I suspect was just a 2-parter from the series. TV show was meh--I've seen worse. about average for what Sci-Fi channel was putting out before it abandoned any attempt at quality.

I believe it was only salt water that hurt them, but that's problematic, too.

I enjoyed both the movie and TV series as well as several of the books and the comics. I will keep an open mind but I don't trust Fox.

It was only sea water that burned them. Which i always though was kind of lame.

As for getting drunk on fermented spoiled milk that I could buy we get drunk off fermented grapes.
