D&D 5E Random Starter Set Teaser from Google+

Wait...the heavy crossbow is 18lb? That seems awfully heavy to me. That's over twice the weight of most rifles. Does anyone know anything about medieval weaponry? Is that weight realistic?

and yet you're chastising someone else for pointing out what you obviously never noticed in your playtesting report (the crit die)
I haven't responded to anyone who mentioned the crit die, since I don't want to break NDA by revealing if/how the crit rules have changed since then.

Yes, and the game punishes that player for not mastering the system first.

Yes, but it also does minimum damage less often. And it never does 1 damage. You can't argue with the math.

You can with such a small difference over such a small sample. Like I say, if this is important to a person, that's great, let them min/max. It's not important to everyone.

I think you just did :) I mean, you would not have complained about it unless it had changed to be all the dice from the base weapon.

Yeah. That's what you get for eyeballing it.

It seems (with the exception of the sling) all the missing weapons had reach or special rules.

I really hope they fix reach weapons, I can't imagine that many > level 10 melee types not going that route. It's too beneficial to pass up.
