D&D 5E Tyranny of Dragons—Dragon & Icons of the Realms Minis

Just to clarify, the D&D Attack Wing figures are a different game and use a different set from the Tyranny of Draogons Icons of the Realms sets. I believe thay are the same scale, but the pricing and sales models are different. The Attack Wing game is designed just like the Star Trek Attack Wing game, which is modeled after the Star Wars X-Wing game. The Attack Wing figures are not random, the Icons (except the Starter Set) are random.

Attack Wing will use the same sculpts as the traditional gaming minis, I think. They'll have different bases and I expect that there'll be a wider range in the blind boosters than in Attack Wing, at least at launch, but I believe the actual figures will be the same. Attack Wing's price point is higher, I think, but it's not random.

These dragons look marvelous. Do we know the size of these dragons? Large? Huge? Gargantuan. These dragons shall be both in the icons of the realms boosters and in the attack wing game? The price of a single dragon at Attack Wing is $25 (very expensive imho) while the 3 dragons of the starter set cost $50.

Somewhat tangential, but the figures rather look like digitizations of the images from the Draconomicon. That is, they were created using digital modelling tools, with apparently very little modification. They are impressive, but, (to my eye) slightly off as a result.

Thx!

Not sure I will get the dragons since I already have many of I don't have much space to store more!

Couple of questions;

1) Are mini's this time around going to have those squarish looking white plastic under the base or is this for display purposes only?
2) Are the bases going to be 1'' inch still?
3) Is there a larger image of the minis included in the icons of the realms starter pack? Wizards pic is too small to see details.

Cheers!

Unfortunately, I can't find a good image that includes the Halfling rogue.
Yes to the 1" bases, and no to the white plastic for the Icons series, The white bases are part of the Attack Wing game.

You'll be able to get minis on either round black 1" bases or large white bases. The large white bases are for the Attack Wing game, which is mainly dragons sold in a starter set of 3 then individually as with the X Wing and Star Trek Attack Wing games. Some of the character/other monster minis will also be available for that game, on the large clear bases according to the promotional photos. They'll be expensive and on the wrong size base for a traditional grid, but you'll be able to see which figure you're buying.

Figures mounted on round black 1" bases will be the ones in the Icons set (pregens from the D&D Starter plus Drizzt) and those sold in blind boosters. I think there's a rarity to the distribution, but I'm not sure. Plus, presumably, the gargantuan (Tiamat) figure.

At least that's how I understand it!

Nice! Thank you Thalmin!

The bottom three are cool, especially the Dwarf. Not a huge fan of the Drizzt of Sun elf. I don't mind Drizzt (was a fan as a kid) but I just don't like the look of the mini that much. He looks kind of bulky which seems odd.
