D&D 5E Collectors series miniatures

The first of the Collector's Series miniatures with the new 5e branding -- a behir -- is now visible on the Gale Force Nine D&D web site.

I really like the design of the mini, but at the same time, it doesn't quite match my mental picture of a behir, based on all of the previous editions. Something about its head seems slightly off.

The mat is wet-erase.

There is this bit in the description, but the first two linked products aren't posted yet:

I have these (the painted 3D terrain and the vinyl mat), and they do look really nice when used in combination. However, they are (both) a bit on the pricey side. I'm also guessing that the terrain pack didn't sell very well, since there have been no others made in that series. Which is a pity, because I'd have bought other sets, despite the price tag.

There are actually nineteen mats in that vinyl series, plus another five large vinyl maps.

The GF9 website also shows the various sprues and parts that make up the models. They really do look nice from the website pics. So very tempted.

will order red dragon from paizo...

anyone got pics of the frogemoth and dracolich?

I ended up buying the Illithid Raiding Party, Drow Raiding Party and the tiefling/cambion, as well as those prepainted underdark cavern stalagmites/crystals/fungi. I think I will start with painting the drow, and the gnoll from the Illithid pack.

Finally caved and bought the Eye Tyrant and Scoundrels of Skullport (smaller Beholder + 2 human minis). I almost bought the Umber Hulk as well, but decided against it at the last minute.

I probably would have bought the Drizzt and and Guenhwyvar set, but it was sold out from Noble Knight Games. I also probably would have bought the Remorhaz, but it hasn't been released yet.
