The new Legends & Lore is up. "A Bit More on the Basic Rules for D&D."

Included is a complete list of spells to be found in the Basic PDF. Article also mentions the entire Equipment Chapter from the PHB will be included.

That list of spells just feels really B/X. They definitely hit the iconic spells in drawing up those list. SO EXCITED RIGHT NOW!

I thought they'd have all the specializations for the four classes, but I guess one each makes more sense for a Basic set.

But it is intriguing, so subclasses will be optional?

I know Mearls stated previously that 5e is reverting to the Planescape cosmology, but the ethereal plane is now confirmed.

"Spare the dying" is still on the list. I wonder if it got revised.

Why no hope? What we saw was the equipment page from the Starter set, not the chapter from the PDF.

And if subclasses are in the PHB, why are they optional? Unless your DM is running a game based just on the PDF, that is. As Mr. Mearls says, the PDF is just a subset of D&D.

Revivify is gone from the PDF. We don't know yet whether it is in the PHB.
