D&D 5E Phandelver Pregen PDF's or Scanns? And the state of the online Support.

Are the pregenerated Characters from the Starter Set available as PDF's or at least as Scanns?

I am generally a bit concerned about the missing online presence. There is no PDF of the Starter Set, no free Maps to download (they are sold for more than the Set itself) and it seems not even the Characters from the Set are available (I hope I am wrong at that one).

I hope the online Support will be better once the Core Books come out, not having the core books as PDF would be quite a nuisance.

I tweeted Mearls to ask for downloadable maps from the Phandelver module sooner rather than later as well. I won't be starting for a couple of weeks so he has that long to do it. :)

Bear in mind the Starter Set only had its general release date like two days ago. Depending on WotC's digital strategy, they may still post stuff free online soon without being late.

I'm surprised he has the rights to sell this separately. I'm glad they are available, just wasn't expecting them from anyone but WoTC themselves.

It's actually kind of cool that the artist can do this.
Definitely, although the cost for the lot is enough to make me seriously reconsider. I understand the artist wasn't able to sustain his work at a lower price though, according to a blog post he wrote.

FWIW, some of the maps available on his site are versions that don't appear in the Starter Set, namely the unmarked player versions.

I think there's a trend for this recently. It's always been around, but getting more popular as folks campaign for artists and fair pay and terms and so forth. Claudio Pozas, for example, sells the print of the cover of To Slay A Dragon on his website.
