D&D 5E Figures

Jaracove

First Post
I'd love to start collecting figures for our upcoming 5ed campagin(s). I've never really bothered but I thought why not go for it

I'm from the UK and I was wondering what's the best deal out there? I've been looking at the PF Bestiary cardstock offerings which are nigh on perfect because I simply hate painting.

Are there any other card type box sets of figures out there?

My stock advice: Keep an eye on ebay. Every once in a while you'll find a large lot of old metal or DDM figures for sale - and a price of ~20 cents per figure. You can get a pretty solid collection going with a couple of these auctions.

If you dont like the prepainted figures, check out the Gale Force Nine collection of Resin miniatures. Very high quality and very nice, but some (as in all) assembly and painting required :D

Thanks for the advice

I hear there's only 3 hobgoblins, is this correct? I assume it's the same for other similar creatures like kobolds, goblins etc. That's not enough with a group of 5 to 6 players

In my book, the best combination of quality and affordability is Reaper Bones. And then I actually go back and read your post, and you're looking for something along the lines of Pathfinder Pawns. Yes, those are fantastic. I have the Bestiary box and NPC box, and even though I've turned to painting minis instead (because minis are much nice, IMHO), I still think the Pathfinder Bestiary box is fantastic. They work very well. If you get them, I suggest finding some crafting/hobby containers with bins so that you can properly organize them, though. There's a ton, and searching through them to find the right ones will always take a while unless it's organized.

If you got a 2nd & Charles near you, you may find one (or, like, 5) shrink-wrapped copies of the 4E Monster Vault with sturdy monster tokens.

Or wait until November when the Reaper Mini Bones II Kickstarter ships. Probably boatloads of unwanted minis will hit eBay.
