D&D 5E Upcoming Products, Interesting

Neat find! I agree Princes of Darkness sounds like it might be another Adventure Path...but what if it's a Monster Manual just for Archdevils, Demon Princes, and evil deities and their followers?)

Ok, now I am getting over excited. My imagination is running wild. That would be cool to have a Monster Manual like that.

"Princes of Darkness" could also refer to the Shadovar in Forgotten Realms. I'm reading The Sentinel currently, and there is a Prince of Shade.

I think a fiend monster book is more likely, but this thought occurred to me as I was reading.

Thaumaturge.

That does sound like a splat, unfortunately. If so, the general title of it implies to me that it is intended to be the splatbook (or at least, the one for the year or next couple of years) rather than a precursor to one for every class or type of class.

I'll have to post my guess for release schedules in a new thread.

Could the adventurer's Handbook be about weapons, armor, equipment, and vehicles? I imagine it might expand upon the PH(B), but in ways that are purely optional.

My guess is that the Adventurer's Handbook will be pure splat; and that those hoping for a splat-free edition will be sorely wounded. In general, I hope the edition sees some splat, some of it tied to specific settings and their adventure paths, some of it of a more general nature. I actually think some modest degree of splat will be good for the game and good for the market. I'm not going to buy toys, lunchboxes, or even the MMO that crushes WoW beneath it's heel. I won't buy minis (I already own and play a couple of versions of D&D that don't play well without them; and 5e has promised to be my TotM edition), cards (collectible or otherwise), maps, or tiles. I will however buy campaign settings, adventures, and splat. All of that said, I really do hope there is less splat than we saw for previous editions, just not a complete absence of it.

Now, as for the other book-- is it Princes of Darkness or Princes of the Apocalypse. My guess is that-- whichever it is-- it ties to the story arc that will follow ToD. If Darkness, I bet we are getting some Raven loft action. If Apocalypse, it could point toward Dark Sun.

They were bound to be disappointed. I think that there will be less splat than other editions but splat-free is quite wishful thinking on their part.

I think that we will see 1-2 splat books a year but that is ok with me.

I wouldn't mind 1-2 splats per year, I'm just not sure it's a good idea for their financial picture.

Princes of the Apocalypse as the Spring AP with a corresponding set of WizKids minis would be awesome.

Adding flying demons, devils, and more angels to your game and Assault Wing would be a natural progression.

Maybe we will get a Gargantuan Demogorgon in the deal. The late 3.5 and 4e Demogorgon art was amazing.
