D&D 5E I have something... THE TARRASQUE!

I don't see anything in the D&D rules saying a monster with appropriate appendages can't pick up a boulder and throw it...and that sort of improvisation is certainly encouraged in 5e

Well, now I know what my tarrasque will do against flying foes.
Yeah but having the devs put it in the stat block means players have less room to grumble about it when the attack is way better than just a mere scaled up thrown rock.

Thanks to this thread, I've noticed something fascinating that I otherwise would've missed.

Undead aren't innately immune to fear in 5e.

How're those "We only hit on natural 20" skeletons doing in terms of average once they're rolling nearly all their attacks at disadvantage? :] ;)

Oh no mah verisimilitudes!

Yes, that would change the math a lot.

Considering a single levitating archer with a +1 longbow can grind it down to zero over time, I'd say so, yeah.

Note the Tarrasque has a move of 40, and can take Legendary actions to move much further - if I read it right, he can generate an effective overall move of 100 if he wants.

Levitating archer's out of range very quickly. Fly spell only gets you a move of 60. Skeletons, similarly, are going to be hard pressed to keep up.

Or up to 140, if it's the horde of skeletons, since he'll be able to take more than one Legendary action per round.

...

Which is odd if you think about it too closely, but accurate by RAW. ;)

My verisimilitude already got spoiled by something the size of the tarrasque being able to leap 88 feet of the ground without magic to help it!

Well, he's not leaping 80 ft. off the ground. He's leaping high enough to reach something 80 ft. in the air. His feet are only getting something like 15 feet off the ground.

So your verisimilitude is entitled to a death save. ;)

Heh, I've seen Godzilla performing drop kicks. Jumping Tarrasque? Not a problem.
