[Tavern Thread] The Dunn Wright Inn

Charity, Human Female
Dressed in a long off-white tunic with red trim and symbology, a simple pair of pants and a braided cloth belt, a young woman steps into the inn. She stops, surveys the place a moment, hand resting on the pommel of her dagger, as if by habit. Finally she pulls up to the bar. "A beer?" she asks of the bartender as he dutifully cleans out a mug.

Grog, Bartender

Grog sets the mug he was wiping off down on the counter and grabs another from under the bar. He fills it from the tap and sets it in front of Charity.

"Miz Char'ty." There seems to be a note of respect in his voice that is lacking in his normal interactions with patrons. "See ya didn't die dis time." He's quiet which isn't unusual but the long look he gives Charity is. Finally he nods and speaks in a low voice meant to be heard by Charity alone.

"Yer parents woulda been proud of ya."

In strolls Robert looking around the tavern for a familiar face. Recognizing none with the exception of a certain red head, he walks over to her. "Already starting the heavy drinking? Hope you have some coin left from the last job." Robert teases Charity. "Got myself a new belt from the payment, see?" He shows her his new purchase before turning to the bartender "For me a milk please."

 

[FrancisJohn]

The curious halfling finishes his libation, and is now half full of liquid courage. He taps on the counter, signalling the barkeep "Hey Grog old buddy!" As the creature twice Francis' size approaches and quite forgetful of the previous scowl, he asks "Who are those two? I am talking about Big Red and her heavy drinking pal?" He flashes his most prize-winning smile in hopes of eliciting an answer.

Grog turns to the halfling (who still hasn't given him his name) and peers at the halfling's empty mug. "Another?" He looks over at the red head and her friend. "Dat be Miz Char'ty an' Robert Kronbark. Ya want more'n dat ya gotta be askin' fer yerself. They done sum jobs so gettin' advice from 'em be a good idea."

[sblock=OOC]The pics were done exactly as Lindeloef describes. For the headings you can just put something in the title field above the text box like I did for Grog or you can use bold tags and/or color tags (or whatever color). For colors, a lot of us use the legacy skin to the forum which has a black background so using dark colors (dark blues or purples) is really hard to read. Just something to be aware of.[/sblock]

At the mention of her parents, the redhead gets a rather surprised look on her face. However, it quickly softens, and she quietly replies, "Thanks for saying so, Grog. I don't know if this whole 'adventuring' gig will ever help me find them, but if I do some good along the way, then it will be time well spent."

With that, Charity looks wistfully across the room for a moment before Robert comes into her field of view to chat. "Oh, hey, Robert… how are things? New belt? I haven't done anything with my money, yet. If I step into that Pearl place I'm sure the owner will make it his personal responsibility to relieve me of nearly all my gold." Grinning, she reaches out and pokes at the sturdy leather of his new belt, "Hunh. Am I to guess it does more than the run-of-the-mill belt?"

Hearing Grog and the halfling's exchange about her, the young Venzan cocks her head to looks over the newest patron to the Dunn Wright Inn. Curious green eyes look him over from head to toe. Turning herself in her chair to face him, smiling gently and giving him a chance to speak.

"Oh, 'ello there Red! How are you and your companion doing on this fine evening? Me name's Francis. Francis John. I see you know our mutual acquaintance here, Grog. May I have the pleasure of yours?" He gives both of them a warm smile, making sure some of it is even directed towards the barkeep's direction.

"Well," Charity begins, leaning back against the bar and crossing her legs, "It is as Grog said. My name is Charity. It's very nice to meet you, Francis. Although, I don't understand why you ask for information that has already been freely given. Hunh, curious.

"Although, you can call me Red if you like," the young woman continues, taking a sip of her beer and setting it down, still mostly full. "Although, in that regard… you might not be the first… and probably not the last. It's your choice."
