D&D 5E Elemental Weapon and Elemental Affinity

Let's say you have a Bard 6 (lore)/Sorc 6(dragon) who takes the "Elemental Weapon" spell as magical secrets, would they apply their sorc elemental affinity bonus to damage rolls with that weapon?

The question as to why one would even do this instead of Haste, even with the affinity bonus, is a separate one. :)

It does not really look like you do, as its specifies 'when you cast the spell' which makes it sound like it only effects spells that deal damage directly.

That said, sure, I would allow it.

Hmm, if it's only when cast, perhaps it wouldn't apply to Witchbolt and the like on subsequent rounds?
