Well this to me isn't really interesting. This was also in the 3e DMG, but IMO there is no chance it's going to be beefy enough to decently play a fantasy setting with a higher level of technology. So for me this is going to end up being a useless "sample" and wasted DMG space.
The only thing that I found interesting on the list of previews was the table of contents. The rest are near the bottom of the list of previews that I would want to see.
I love Final Fantasy 1 & 2 (#4 in japan) so a sprinkling of tech is just fine in my book as long as it doesn't arbitrarily negate some classes while overpowering others like the 2E screw up "Tale of the Comet".
See how the image looks like the wizard is Soloing against the plane while the fighter and rogue lounge on the sidelines? That's exactly what's going on.
I don't think so, but I sure do hope they provide detailed price lists and crafting rules, as well as wealth by level charts so we don't have to extrapolate them from random treasure charts.
Eberron fans should note that Keith Baker is one of the participants, and he has asked fans to pledge a buck for him to show support for Eberron in hopes of letting WotC know how many people are eager for support for the setting.... great way to kill 2 rocs with one stone.
