D&D 5E DMG Excerpt: Wonderous Items

I wasn't sure about it when I read it. Stuff that teleports PCs to random locations/planes can be pretty hard on both GM and players - potentially very disruptive, and the potential for anti-climactic or just lacklustre play if the GM isn't able to incorporate the random location into the ongoing flow of events in the campaign.

Well, you could always ready some some plots on different planes, and randomize over them [emoji6]

I'd say ues, since in the PHB (if I remember correctly) is explicitated that you gain HP with a CON increase

That's how I'd like to work too, but I don't have the PHB so I am not sure if it refers only to higher CON due to ability score increase or if it applies also to temporary CON increase and magic items, so I was wondering if this could be another instance of leaving something undefined and let the DM decide...

Yes, the "ability score increase" issue is the same for me...but if it's a no, I fail to see much use for the suffix "of Health": ok for the CON saves, but more HP (albeit temporary) are much more "healthy" ;)

The approach is good. Loving the wondrous items.

But animated shields and adamantine armor, for changing fundemental bits of the game, and just because, totally SUCK.

your millage may very, etc, etc.

I have to know, what can one do with two gallons of mayonnaise?
You haven't arrived as a caterer until you have one of these fantastic alchemy jugs. For all of those little emergencies when you are on a catering job. Run out of mayonnaise? Check. Need honey? Check. Need to whip up a light vinaigrette? You'll need two. Find you consistently run out of booze? We have a jug of the month club. Someone complains about the food or service? Well, let's just say we don't bother spitting in the food.

No comments on the Amulet of Health? Does it change your HP or not?

Your constitution score becomes 19. Your hp is calculated from whichever method you use for hp at each level + (your Con bonus * your level). A 11th level fighter with a 16 Con using standard hp changes from max 103 hp (10hp first level + 60 next 10 levels + 33 con bonus) to max 114 hp (10hp first level + 60 next ten levels + 44 con bonus). I would say that only the max hp is affected. Your current hp is unchanged unless you take tha amulet off and your current hp exceeds your new maximum.
